Every few years or so, voices from distant corners of the marketing world would whisper that SEO is dying. But with the SEO industry approaching $80 billion, SEO isn't going anywhere soon. Some say SEO is too basic and there's no such thing such as an SEO expert. Throughout the years, numerous people have different opinions on whether SEO is dead or not.
Even though the whispers are generally false, they do hold kernels of truth. Due to the fast changing pace of technology over the years, elements of SEO have either died or evolved into something new. As a result, outdated SEO tactics can kill your rankings.
HOWEVER I DO NOT THINK THAT SEO IS DEAD
The role of a search engine is to allow users to find specific words by just using a few words relating to the information. They are our lifesavers and will never go out of style. It makes our everyday lives easier by optimizing the information we need in just a few seconds. I think SEO will never die, not in 5 years, 10 years or 20. Maybe a slight possibility when the internet dies but until then, it's a no.
Our smart gadgets may all be of different brands and types but what is 1 thing that they have in common? Voice search. When our hands are occupied but we need to search for something online, who can we look to for help?
"Hey Siri"
"Hey Google"
"Hey Alexa"
The above statistics show that we will never stop searching the internet as we don't have the answers to everything. SEO standards are evolving and constantly upgrading just like applications and social medias. Businesses are able to flourish when they can be found on Google, showing a degree of quality and trust to users. With SEOs, our searches are more organised and categorised.
Hello Darius!
I think SMEs would best suit SEO as strategy as it can help get their business out there. Unlike outbound advertising channels, SEO is an inbound method where your audience looks for your business when they want information therefor SEO helps increase online traffic without much marketing efforts. This helps SMEs to save on advertising and reduces the chances of annoying consumers who do not wish to hear from the business. I hope this answers your question. 😊
Hi Brenda! As i was unfamilar with this topic before but thanks to you, I learn a little more about SEO I would like to ask a question on your thoughts on what kind of companies best suit SEO as strategy?
Hello Irving, thank you for your comment. 😊
SEO stands for search engine optimization, which is the process of optimizing your website to get unpaid traffic from search engine results page. Search engines will scan different websites to better understand what the site is about, allowing them to deliver more relevant results to those who are searching for certain topics or keywords. At the same time, search engines will scan the site to determine how easy it is to navigate and read, rewarding user-friendly sites with higher rankings on the search engine results page. I hope this answers your question! If you'd like to know more about SEOs, you can have a look at this article (https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo/how-search-engines-operate).
